Nashville, Tennessee wasn’t originally on the list of cities for the US tour of the Studio Ghibli retrospective, but I don’t think anyone is going to be complaining about this – more likely children (big and small, of course) will be rejoicing.
Entitled “Castles in the Sky” just like the LA edition of the retrospective, the event will run from June 1 to 13 at The Belcourt in Nashville. Nearly the complete filmic output of Studio Ghibli will be shown, including the studio’s second most recent animation, 借りぐらしのアリエッティ (Kari-gurashi no Arietti/Arrietty, Japan, 2010), which did not feature at earlier stops. Tickets went on sale May 1st, so you might want to book before they sell out. Full passes or 5-ticket deals are available.
The programme has a second page (equally lovely) which contains a short synopsis for each film, but for this you’ll have to download the .pdf file linked above.
Confirmed stops on the Studio Ghibli US tour still to come: Seattle (also in June) and San Francisco (July). No further details are yet available, but I will be posting them on Otherwhere as soon as we know more.
