The publication date of the English translations of Murakami Haruki’s 2009 magnum opus 1Q84 is soon approaching. Books 1 and 2 will be published on October 18, with Book 3 following on October 25 on both sides of the Atlantic. All are translated by Jay Rubin and Philip Gabriel and can be preordered (on Amazon or elsewhere). Continue reading »

Miscellanea

– One more Soratobu Kouhoushitsu episode left. It's been a super-mellow ride, but that dorama really snuck into my heart. Cheering for a happy ending for Ayanogakky and wishing all bosses were as awesome as Sagisaka. His retirement made me cry!

– Will tackle Terracotta FF reviews soon, but in case you're wondering, my order of preference was: 1) 《南方小羊牧場》(When a Wolf Falls in Love with a Sheep) 2) 늑대소년 (Werewolf Boy) 3) 「みなさん、さようなら」(See You Tomorrow Everyone) and 4) 《不能爱》(Love Me Not). That's all I saw, unfortunately...

– Still busy marking exams, but should be mostly done by early next later this week maybe late next week??? Somehow agreed to cover and teach a session & tutorials at a summer school at my uni this week and I've also got a 2-day conference I'm helping organise. Not even being paid for any of this.
